# Terms of use — beta **Version: beta-2 · 2026-07-30** This assistant is a **beta service**, shared privately for testing. By creating an account you accept these terms. ## What this is — and is not - Plain-English **information and help understanding your housing situation**, grounded in English housing law and published council policy. - It is **not legal advice** and it is not a solicitor. For a review or court deadline, speak to a solicitor or a free adviser (Shelter, Citizens Advice, a law centre) — legal aid covers homelessness reviews for most people on low income. - Answers can be wrong. Check anything important against the letter in your hand or with an adviser before acting on it. ## Your account and your data - Your identity is self-declared; your borough setting only chooses which council's published policy you see. - Your records log and profile are stored in the United Kingdom. Documents you upload are stored on our own UK server and are **never used to train AI models**. - AI providers receive the **minimum the service can run on**: text with names and postcodes replaced by anonymous tokens before anything leaves our server. They never receive your documents, photos, audio, or identity, and the service tiers we use do not train on inputs. - Voice notes and meeting recordings are transcribed **on our own UK server** and the audio is then discarded — it is never stored and never sent to anyone. - **Beta service improvement — part of the deal.** Using this beta means your questions and the assistant's answers — always with names and postcodes replaced by anonymous tokens first — are kept and analysed **by us** to improve the service: finding the questions we answer badly, building the knowledge base around what people actually ask, and testing changes against real questions. This analysis happens on our own systems under UK data protection law and is never sold or shared. Your documents, photos and voice stay outside it entirely, and the promise above stands: nothing of yours trains any external AI model. - Ask us to delete your account and we will delete your profile, records, photos and uploads. - Our data-protection records (DPIA and ROPA) are maintained and versioned with the app; formal registration completes before any public launch. ## Recording conversations The app helps you keep records, and later may help with meeting notes. If you record a call or a meeting, **that recording is your own responsibility**. In the UK a private individual may generally record their own conversations for personal use, but sharing or publishing a recording is a different matter, and rules differ for professionals. Telling the other person you are recording is safer and usually more effective. ## Fair use Daily answer limits apply and may change during beta. Do not use the service to harass, to generate content for someone else's case without their knowledge, or to attempt to extract other people's data. ## Beta means beta The service may change, break, or be paused without notice. We keep backups but cannot guarantee zero data loss — export your records log regularly (one tap in the app) if it matters to you. That export habit is also simply good casework.
